Builta Named GROWMARK Vice President, Energy and Logistics

Mike Builta has been named GROWMARK vice president, energy and logistics. He will replace Kevin Carroll, who is retiring from GROWMARK after 32 years of company service.

"I am truly honored to have been chosen to lead GROWMARK's energy and logistics divisions," said Builta. "GROWMARK has a strong tradition of growing its energy and logistics business and I look forward to continuing that growth as we focus our efforts on operational efficiencies and executing on critical business initiatives."

Builta is currently general manager of GRAINCO FS, based in Ottawa, Ill. He previously served as general manager of Christian County Farmers Supply in Taylorville, Ill. His experience also includes serving customers at Illini FS, sales administration roles for non-System seed companies, and partnering in a family farm operation.

Mike received his bachelor's degree in agricultural economics with a marketing specialty, and a master's degree in crops science, both from University of Illinois. Mike is a native of McLean County, Ill. He and his wife Sheila have two adult daughters.

"With his proven track record of business results, focus on customer relationships, and skill in developing talent, Mike is positioned to excel in leading our Energy and Logistics divisions," said Jim Spradlin, GROWMARK Chief Executive Officer. "We look forward to welcoming Mike to the leadership team."

The new position takes effect Feb. 15.
