Another Case of Stolen Cheese in Wisconsin
USAgNet - 07/01/2016

For the third time this year, police in America's Dairyland are investigating a massive case of missing cheese which was stolen when someone drive off with a shipping trailer. The latest incident happened Thursday in Oak Creek near Milwaukee, where $46,000 in cheese products were taken when thieves drove off with the semi-trailer that was parked near a storage facility.

Law enforcement officers are currently studying surveillance footage in hopes of tracking down the people responsible for the theft. The large white trailer was unmarked, so it may be difficult for the public to keep an eye out for the unit. The truck was carrying about 20,000 pounds of assorted cheese.

In January, over $160,000 in cheese products were stolen in separate incidents in Marshfield and Germantown. And about 42,000 pounds of muenster cheese was taken from a factory in Cashton two years ago. The suspect in that case had planned to sell the cheese to out of state retailers.
