Lack of Precipitation Stressing Crops in Kazakhstan
USAgNet - 01/22/2019
Winter crop growing areas in the south and southeast of Kazakhstan were exposed to less favorable weather conditions for crop survival in early January, as precipitation rates were below normal.
UkrAgroConsult reports that most of Jambyl and Turkestan regions were free of snow, resulting in winterkill of crops as air temperature drops.
Stable snow cover remained in West Kazakhstan and Almaty regions, therefore low temperature on the ground.
